Passio Technologies recently worked with Port Jefferson Village and Stony Brook University in New York to officially launch their new free shuttle running between the SBU campus and downtown Port Jefferson.

The program is meant to provide a convenient, safe, and affordable option to create a greater connection between these two communities, improving the opportunities for dining, shopping, and entertainment in Port Jefferson for students and employees at SBU.

Initiated by the Mayor of Port Jefferson, Margot Garant, the shuttle provides continuous service between the University and the Village four days a week. The PJ/SBU Shuttle is managed through a partnership between the Port Jefferson Parking and Mobility Department and the Stony Brook University Office of Community Relations, with support from the Greater Port Jefferson Chamber of Commerce, and the ProPort Restaurant Association.

Passio is assisting the program with the integration of our Passio GoTM technology. With Passio GoTM,  passengers can access transit routes via the app on their phone. They can tap on a stop or touch the screen to inform the app where they are headed. In just a moment, the passenger knows when the bus will arrive, where it will pick up and drop off, and where they need to walk.

This system allows passengers to schedule and plan their trips with full control over updating and editing routes and stops with no delays or miscommunication.
